Question:
Should I take this up with corporate?..Rude restaurant behavior?...?

I was at Olive Garden with my friend and sister.
When the menu came, I stated to the server,
"Cheese Ravioli with Marinara sauce", I'm a vegetarian, so of course I know I need to make sure I address with the server the type of sauce I want, so there isn't a neglect on my part.

Well, when it was time for our food to be served, the server brought out Cheese Ravioli with Meat sauce.
My friend had ordered Meat Ravioli, and i clearly stated to her I wanted Maranira.

She never apologized.
This is NOT the 1st time in this specific location they've done this. I didn't say anything last time, but I swore if it happened again I would.

-The manager seemed condescending about it, like she didn't care. She apologized, but I was still going to be charged for the meal

-I had to wait 15 more mintues for the plate to be redone.

-She didn't appease for the inconvenience at all.

Sorry, you do need to clearly state you're vegetarian. You shouldnt have to, but in this case (obviously this is one stupid olive garden)

Let Corporate know for sure, they need to know that OG is not hip to what their customers need.

the rudeness was uncalled for. (Some of us are still not sympathetic to veg or allergies.) Sad but true.

It's Olive Garden, not some five star restaurant. The cooks they have working were picked up at Home Depot that morning. Corporate won't care, they still got your money. Chances are the meat they used was a cheap soy knock off anyway.

From your post

~She never apologized...like she didn't care. She apologized, but I was still going to be charged for the meal~

So did she apologize or not?

Seriously, it happened at the same place once before and you still went back. Are you slow or just a glutton for punishment? Dang.

I hate to think what they were doing to your plate during those fifteen minutes they were redoing it.

Hi,

well, you get what you pay for.

i would complain to corporate and tell them that you plan to never return to that restaurant.

an apology would have been the minimum of courtesy and the manager's behavior was outrageous.

if you don't let corporate know, they won't know what is going on at that branch.

i can't stand the olive garden anyway, bad food, bad service. and i cook better than them anyway. i prefer to eat out less but eat at better places when i do. or eat from fast food restaurants where i know what to expect.

i highly suggest you complain and find somewhere else to eat where you don't have to be concerned about getting the wrong order and bad service.

try applebee's or friday's, i've never had bad service there and they are as inexpensive as the olive garden - with GOOD food and good service.

Very strange that Olive Garden would treat you like that. Treat you like family? Ha! Dysfunctional family. Definitely bring it up with corporate. That place is too expensive to just deal with mistakes and a rude staff. Hey, maybe you'll even get a coupon for a free meal.

Is marinara sauce always w/o meat. Im pretty sure I have had it w/meatballs in it. What you need to do is specify I am a vegitarian or vegan and ask the waitress to write it on your order so the cook is certain of why you want meatless .In your question you never said you specified meatless anything.

You've eaten there before and had bad service and surprised that it happened again? I just wouldn't eat there again if I were you and tell everyone you know not to eat there. That's about the worst you could do to them. I wouldn't call corporate since it will only be a waste of your time.

I think you should specifically and emphatically state that you are a vegetarian and you do not want meat sauce. The mistake may have been in the kitchen, though. It happens.

Call corporate and let them know what happened. Also tell them that your going to tell everyone you know what happened. Word of mouth DOES matter.

It was a bit rude, but I think it would be a waste of time to take it up with the corporate, and it would just upset you more. It may sound hard, but in the words of the Beatles, "Let it be."
