Yes, you do tip...In general,15% to 25% depending on the complexity of the piece and the speed/skill of the artist.... for a very simple tat, like a plain heart in a single colour you would tip a little less than for a large or highly detailed piece, like an ornate butterfly or a portrait.... the tip should also be a bit higher for a custom piece than if you simply chose flash from the wall.

When I got mine, my artist made the flash from a drawing I brought in... medium complexity, 2 colours, the final bill was a shockingly low 70 bucks, I tipped him the change from a hundred... a month later, when he refused to charge me for touching up the lettering a little, I tipped him 20, based on the fact that he charges 30 an hour and spent half an hour on the touch up.

Tip like you would in a restaurant, but definitely tip more if you get a deal, or an extraordinary piece of work, and all artists like to know that they did a good job, that you are happy with the piece. Sometimes gifts are acceptable, too, if the artist is a friend.

now i feel bad because i diddnt tip but he diddnt do it how i wanted any way so i guess it dont matter because i will go some where else to get it fixed and if they do a good job i wil tip i dont tip a waitress if she doesnt do a descent job either and i used 2 be a waitress
