Does anyone fear going to a bar that isn't close to home, alone and drinking so much they can't get home?

while in college I was close to bars but now I am living in area where I am close to bars but the really happing ones are a lot farther away. I am afraid to go there and party because if I drink too much I won't be able to get home. I don't have a lot of people around to go with.

I suggest you not drink that much. Keep the name and number of a taxi service, as well as your home address in your pocket, so that you can always get someone to call a cab for you and you can just hand the driver your address, should you get too intoxicated.

Now that I'm older and out of college and not living as close to the bars, I only drink heavily on vacations, etc., where I'm either A) riding with a designated driver, B) calling a cab or other transportation, or C) within walking distance of where I will be drinking. More often than not, I try to plan my vacation to be within walking distance of the places I would like to drink, because I'm afraid of being able to give someone directions in an area I'm unfamiliar with if I am drunk.

Been there done that and NO MORE!!!

I used to live out in the boonies, about 25-30 miles from good bars and would go by myself (to meet friends there). And I still wonder how in the world I got home. Now I live closer to the city and we still just stay in close places. And plus I'm pregnant so I'm the designated driver now a days.



I would say just take it easy on the drinking and maybe take a cab. Be safe!

Go, try them out, but drink responsibly. Make some new friends and then eventually you can get trashed and one of your new friends will take you home. Why not try cabs? Good luck.

I WAS IN THE SAME PREDICAMENT YOU ARE IN . WHAT I FOUND TO DO WAS TO CALL THE PEOPLE AT THE OTHER BARS AND TELL THEM HOW FUN IT IS AT THE LOCAL BAR AND THEY SHOULD COME TO IT.

MY FRIENDS WOULD GET MAD WHEN THEY GOT THERE THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THEY STILL KEPT COMING BACK.
