Question:
Does it bug you when people seem to think they're so much more important then everyone else?

I really hate it when I have important places to be, while people infront of me just stroll along and there's no way around them. I was trapped behind this one girl who was looking down texting on her phone and going about an inch per minute. I said excuse me five times and she still just kept texting away. I mean if there's someone who has physical problems, then I don't mind waiting because it isn't their fault.
Another good example is when two cars park smack dab in the middle of the road and talk to each other through the windows and just sit there, meanwhile a huge line up of cars are honking at them and they still don't move. How ignorant can you get?
Another time is when I was in dollarama and there was this bracelet I wanted and this lady had her cart parked right infront of them while her two kids ran around making noise and throwing things around. I asked her politely if she could move her cart so I could reach and she just glared at me and didn't say anything! Then she turned around to her kids who were at the other end of the isle and said to hurry up. They asked how long and she said five minutes, so obviously she wasn't deaf, she just didn't WANT to hear me. I asked her several times until I gave up and leaned over her cart to get the bracelet.
It's like all these people think the world revolves around them.
Once I was in claires with my friend and I saw a really cute wallet and there was only one left. I had said outloud to my friend "I'm totally getting that wallet!" and just as I went to pick it up another girl snatched it as fast as she could and then LITTERLY stuck her tonge out at me!
Any of you have stories of people like this?

What you describe is just plain rudeness, and it does appear to be more prevalent.

It is annoying when you are inconvenienced. But when the attitude of such people causes danger to others, it becomes serious. People get into auto accidents when they text or talk on the cell phone and aren't paying attention to pedestrians or other cars.

Yes we all do. These people arent ignorant they are dont care- nt. These are the people we have to live with and they only respect authority figures, like police or a judge. And yes they dont go out of their doors in the morning considering their fellow man. Its all about me me me. Including the middle of the street talkers, they figure they arent taking up much time at all. Listen because I lived with a sister who liked to tease in every way I developed a don't care attitude and a not too many things hurt or get to me state of mind. As to the purse that was sheer meaness and she will have the same thing done to her, sevenfold, which will perpetuate her repeating this behavior. Shes stuck in a cycle. Someone did this to her or she saw the people in her life or community act this way and she believes this is what you should do. Be the winner in a contest that isnt a contest. I just go around putting my cart back and theirs. It takes extra work to live in America and most natives and foreigners just dont understand this. You have to be mature. We are on the honor system for the most part and when someone else doesnt leave the park bench as they found it,it can screw up the rest of our day. So you have to allow for extra time, bring paper towels, and spend time putting your and someone elses cart back. I learned to be very patient. what I suggest is dont let it bring you down, get a citizens badge such as auxillary police, this way you can leave your car and walk up and flash your badge and get the traffic moving. Sometimes you don't have to even be an official. You just have to act like one. My sister and mother do it all the time. My mother wears white gloves when she drives and this scares the be-jesus out of most people and gets them wondering. They just dont understand the white gloves. They are her driving gloves. My sister simply in an authoritative tone asks when most people wouldnt "Whats going on here" and then she tells, literally tells people what they should be doing. and 99% of the time they do it. Good luck.
