Especially when you ask them a question that might be important? It just annoys me lol. I can understand doing something else when you get the message and replying later though but still. What are your thoughts? Do you think its rude in most cases?

I think it is rude to not reply to any message, whether it be a text message, an email or a phone message. I have had sooooo many people do this to me lately, and then they wonder why I don't call or email anymore. Sure, I understand that sometimes you're busy or you just forget to reply, but to do that all the time is just rude.

If it's an important matter you shouldn't be handling it through text messages in the first place. What happened to the phone ? This nifty thing you can pick up push some numbers & BAM there is a voice on the other end to answer what ever question you may have at that exact moment...technology these days.

It's rude when you absolutely know they got the message and they can reply.

But sometimes, messages just don't send.

It's fine to send important messages via text, but if you don't get a response, call and ask if they got the text.

this is not impolite. yet on occasion persons are busy, and texting could properly be tideous regardless of if somebody isn't busy and in basic terms has their techniques on something else, so i does not difficulty too plenty. I had the comparable concern with a might-be lady chum no longer some time past. it particularly is bothersome whilst somebody does not return a message, in basic terms like it particularly is an e mail.

It depends on the context.

As a rule, unless there's some good reason, no one OWES replies to unsolicited communications. So if you just text me something, I don't have an obligation to reply.

If we work together, and you ask me a work-related question that it's part of my job to answer, then, I DO owe a response.

That something annoys you doesn't make it rude.

It's rude, yes. I hate when people go on tangents like 'don't expect me to communicate' all the time. You should at least have the decency to say you are busy and can't communicate right now. But it also depends on what the messages say.. if it's something work related it's definitely rude.

It's best to try not to be egocentric and think everything is a personal attack against you. When you stop thinking that way, you start to care less about if people answer or not.. that's what happened to me at least :)

yes, but i think if it's really important, it'd be better to just go ahead and call them.

yes when I asked them a question but if it was just for small talk I'd understand. But either way a simple "yes, no, or what's up...can't talk right now" would be appreciated

If it's important, it should be said, not texted.

No, it isn't remotely rude.

No, I think it's rude that people expect me to communicate through such impersonal means all the time.
