I have an interview for a job I don't want?

I applied for 2 jobs last week. I got called this morning for a retail one, they said come in for an interview tomorrow. Half an hour later I got a call from the other job who said come in for an interview today. So I did, and accepted the job.

But it's now too late to cancel my other one, what do I do?

Go along and botch it? Ask for a salary that is too high? Or ring at late notice and say I've got another job?

Just call and let them know that you have accepted another job and thank them for their time.

You don't want to burn your bridges. What if the job you just got doesn't turn out good or something and you might find yourself in need of another job...and you still want to be able to go back to this place that you have the interview with and tell them that the job you got wasn't a good fit and if they still have an opening, you would really appreciate an interview.

Call them, say " Thank you for the opportunity, but I have received an offer for a position that I will be accepting". Going to an interview when you dont want the job is unprofessional, rude & a waste of valuable time.

If you really can't face just phoning them and telling the truth, ( I mean really, whats the problem with just telling them you have another job?) then make one of your first questions 'Will this job require a criminal records check?' If they say 'no', then smile and look relieved. If they say 'yes' then look down at your hands and look uncomfortable.

You haven't said you have a criminal record (or not), but even asking the question will raise suspicions. If they can't be bothered to check properly, it's their loss. It's often enough to end the interview.

I hate the stupid questions that businesses ask!!! Be honest. i became into asked at a job interview: What do you experience this job can furnish you? I reported a pay examine I have been given the job, i think of for being honest.

If you got a job you have every right to phone the other one and tell them you found work, and are no longer need to attend their interview, wether it's too late to cancel or not, if they don't like it it's tough

lol dja-vouz evk...i think the second questioni ever answered of yours was similar to this :p

but just call them to say your circumstances have changed and you wont be able to make the interview...if they really push for a proper answer, just be honest and say you've accepted another job...it happens all the time, they'll understand...

congratz btw!

just go and bomd the interview badly. go dressed like you just woke up. dont comb ur hair etc... give bad answers.. interrrupt the interviewer. bring a snack with you and just start eating it mid interview. if they still hire you, tell them you quit immediately. you will have a funny experience to remember.
