i got something for you.....i have to go copy and paste it from my myspace blog....be right back!

telemarketers

Current mood: frisky

Category: Life

This will give you something to harass those pesky telemarketers with this weekend!

1. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money.

2. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems. My arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died . . . "

3. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located, how long it has been in business, how many people work there, how they got into this line of work if they are married, how many kids they have, etc. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.

4. This works great if you are male. Telemarketer: "Hi, my name is Judy and I'm with XYZ Company. " You: Wait for a second and with a real husky voice ask, "What are you wearing?"

5. Cry out in surprise, "Judy? Is that you? Oh my God! Judy, how have you been?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of terror as she tries to figure out where she could know you from.

6. Say "No" over and over. Be sure to vary the sound of each one, and keep a rhythmic tempo, even as they are trying to speak. This is most fun if you can do it until they hang up.

7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the Family and Friends Plan, reply, in as sinister a voice as you can, "I don't have any friends, would you be my friend?"

8. If the company cleans rugs, respond: "Can you get out blood? Can you get out goat blood? How about human blood?"

9. After the Telemarketer gives his or her spiel, ask him or her to marry you. When they get all flustered, tell them that you can't just give your credit card number to a complete stranger.

10. Tell the Telemarketer that you work for the same company, and they can't sell to employees.

11. Answer the phone. As soon as you realize it is a Telemarketer, set the receiver down, scream, "Oh my God!" and then hang up.

12. Tell the Telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can call him/her back. When the Telemarketer explains that telemarketers cannot give out their home numbers say, "I guess you don't want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The Telemarketer will agree and you say, "Me either!" Hang up.

13. Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times.

14. Tell them it is dinner time, but ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.

15. Tell the Telemarketer you are on "home incarceration" and ask if they could bring you some beer.

16. Ask them to fax the information to you, and make up a number.

17. Tell the Telemarketer, "Okay, I'll listen to you. But I should probably tell you, I'm not wearing any clothes."

18. Insist that the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on, Leon, cut it out! Seriously, Leon, how's your momma?"

19. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to speak up . . . louder . . . louder . . .

And finally....

20. Tell them to talk very slowly, because you want to write every word down.

3. Allow the telemarketer to fully explain his offer. When he is finished explain that his company hired you to randomly spot check telemarketers on their performance. Tell him that he did a good job overall, but that he is a bit monotone and needs to fluctuate his tone of voice more to sound convincing. He also should pause longer between sentences, and more clearly pronounce the letter 's'. Tell him you won't report him if he repeats his speech to you with the appropriate corrections. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat

Call the police. Explain that you are being harassed by a prank caller. Ask how your calls can be monitored and let the police bust this sucker.

Press charges.

You can either contact the police department and ask what steps you should take to press charges OR you can do it my way...buy yourself a very loud, coach's whistle from a sporting goods store and when they call the next time blow the whistle as loud as you can over the phone. After a couple of these amplified in their eardrum, they won't be able hear well enough to know if you even answer the phone the next time ;)

Get a whistle and blow it in into the mouthpiece when they call.

Yes, you can call your local police complaint line and file a report.

not much will happen here though.

The next time they call hang up and press *57 on your phone, this is for a "call trace program". You will be asked to only continue if you wish to take legal action if nessesary. press 1...or yes.(it will most likely not come to this, the calls should stop when their company gets the first complaint from the call screen as it is basically a warning that if it happens again, they will be sent to court for harrasement.)

Keep a journal of what they say, when they call...ect..ect...

I had some collectors calling my house for someone I didn't know, they did the same thing after I was rude with them HOWEVER. after I called the cops, the manager (or whoever) called me and apologized and I never got called again.

My friend has used *57 and it stopped shortly after with no court or anything.

You can get help! The telephone company will have you report the number, it will be on record .I'd record the call, to capture the voice of the perpetrator You can call the company where the telemarketer works to report the caller. You can contact the better business bureau. You can call the chamber of commerce where the company is located to alert them. You can contact the local police department to alert them. You will be surprised at the results - many have tried this, and ALL have been caught - one way or the other. Have a healthy and happy leap year!

You can...

1.) Call the Police.

2.) To stop telemarketers from calling register your phone number with the National Do Call Registry online at www.donotcall.gov or call 1(888)382-1222.

3.) To actually regulate the company. File a complaint with the State Attorney General against the company calling. Call 1(800)952-5225.

If you have caller ID wait 'till they prank call you (you'll know they're off duty then) and call the original number and ask to speak with a manager/supervisor and tell them what date/time you were first called and that the person who made that call is now using your number for prank calls. If he called you from his home phone look up the company and call customer support about it with the same information I mentioned in the first suggestion.

Get on the National Do Not Call List first. Then call the company the telemarketer is working for and speak to someone higher up. If the telemarketer is working for a company that was hired by another company (say a firm doing work for Macy's on their behalf) then call the original company. I had that happen to me with a 3rd party company and the original company handled my complaint.

First, how do you know it's the telemarketer calling you? If they are calling from their company phone and you have caller ID, then that's the dumbest person I've heard of! Record the calls and report them to the police. Then follow up with copies of the police report to your State Attorney General. And if you want, sue them!

What company are they calling from? Find out, ask to speak with their manager, ask to be removed from the list or keep them on the phone long enough to get their call monitored. Report them for harassment and let the police take care of it.

Keep an officials whistle next to the phone. When you answer it and have determined that it is a telemarketer quickly pick up the whistle and blow it as hard as you can into the mouthpiece of the phone! They WILL stop calling!

look the phone number up on the internet and try to get a direct number to the business. Once I had a sob keep calling me and I called back the phone number that showed up on the caller ID but changed the very last number which is usually an extension number and just kept asking for a manager and got one. Then he was a sob and so I called the cops. They told me to write down the times every time they call. keep a log and try to get the idiot in trouble

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.

Use a reverse phone lookup to:

Get the identity of an unknown caller.

Identify an area code.

Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.

Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.

Prank calling???? Report them!

Otherwise, answer the phone and ask if they would hold on a minute..............and don't pick the phone back up for at least a solid 5 minutes or so and they will eventually hang up. he-he

You should also be able to block their # from your phone through your service!

If they call more than five times in a week . It is considered Harassment . You must dial the number on your phone to report the abuse. I don't know what state you live in .

The other option is contact the do not call list which works fine with me.

Good luck .

The next time they call tell them to remove you from their calling list. If they call back again, they aren't a legit company. Most of them are used to having people be rude, so I'm not sure they are who you think they are.

I prefer to dish it back out to them. They can't hang up on a potential customer unless you get rude. Keep them on the line for hours, it's quite satisfying. "Oh hold on, someone's at the door. Don't hang up, I'm really interested". Then watch your favorite show for awhile.

Be calm and rash then add sarcasm first, invite the sucker to rabble on, then turn the conversation into a phone sex ordeal, make believe, act it out & ave some fun in the process, sweet revenge, become an entertainer overnight, These areholes are scam sellers, workaholic phone addicts, no time for play sell, sell, sell! Time for a sex scare, it will embarrass the bastards shitless. fabulous revenge ever, got the drift. Turn the discussion and tell them that vidio cam is on then fake your orgasm and feed em full on. Tell em its recorded then experince that amazing best disappearing act ever and on top of that they then dont call you back ever. You are then black-listed. If you have a return number ask for the wife, then start acting out more phone sex on her, tell her who sent you. Like morman's and salvo's callers, these evil predators can provide geat entertainment if your a good stirrer.

do you have proof it is this telemarketer? Why were you rude to them? Remember, most of teh time tehse telemarketers are 18-24yr olds just trying to make some money while in college, if you dont want what they are selling just politely say no thank you and hang up.

call the police. Dont yell at em anymore; they'll get tired and stop calling. Or call the co. they work for and report it. They'll be able to trace the employee who's been calling you and then hopefully the employer will take care of the issue.

Act like you are a cop when one of them calls you, tell them they are the first person to call this phone after a murder took place at this location, then really get them going and tell them they need to be questioned by local police. Tell them that so and so who they are looking for was secretly gay and question them that maybe the marketer is their gay lover!!!
