my friends on Facebook post statuses about god and I find it annoying?

They post statuses about god almost daily and me as an agnostic, find kit REALLY irritating. I wanted to post this as mine: There once was a time when all people believed in God and the church ruled. This time was called the Dark Ages.

Should I? what other things would you post to get back?

Alright. First let me point out that I am Wicca. Now you haven't stated what they've posted. You make it sound like they are intentionally posting to irate you. I seriously doubt this is the case. You have admitted you're an agnostic...you have doubts so anything ANYONE posts about their believes you might find irritating but because they are your friends you take more offense from it. Yes, there are more hypocrites out there who profess to be Christians and yes there was the Dark Ages but that was not all about Christianity. And no, not ALL people believed in God then and the church didn't rule. You really need to study your history more.



The short answer is no... you don't post anything to "get back" at them... it serves no purpose but to make you look a fool. The long answer... you need to start looking deep within yourself, read, ask questions and explore and find your spirituality. There are many paths to what we call "god" Find yours... even if it's a disbelief in him/her. Trust me.... the Maker is big enough to not care whether you believe or not... and let go of this irritation.... be glad for your friends that they can find such comfort in what they believe and find your own path and your own way. It's okay to have doubts and it's okay to finally decide the belief in one all knowing being is bullshit.



You cannot control what others do only how you react to them.

So let me get this straight. You have a problem with your friends using their freedom of speech to express their devotion to their chosen religion because it contradicts with your personal views? And to get back at them for -daring- to have a viewpoint that is different then your own you want to post something intentionally inflammatory and disrespectful?



....... Let me ask you this are the things they post meant to be cruel and scathing? Are the things they saying hurtful to you? If not then why do you care so much? Are you that insecure in your beliefs that you can't stand the idea someone might think a different way then you? And if it really bothers you that much then why are you even friends with them in the first place?



How about you try this instead. Grow up.

Get over yourself. People may express their faith as they see fit. You're allowed to express your lack of faith also.

If you don't like what they're posting, ignore it. I'm sure they'll do the same with yours.

Since they can post their felings, so can you. However, if they're bugging you, you'd probably be bugging them too. So don't fight fire with fire. It'd be hypocritical. Delete them, or ignore it. They have every right to say that because it's their beliefe.

These poeple don't sound like any sort of friend of yours nor do you of them. Maybe make some new friends that share similar beliefs and interests.
