i'm writing an extended thank you card to my college professor, but i'm not sure one side is enough. can I start my note on the blank space on the left panel of the card?

Actually, I've always considered it a necessity to personalize standard cards. If the card is completely blank, even better. Yes. It is appropriate to use the left side for your extended thank yous.
