Will I eventually miss high school? How do I make the best of these years?

So I just started High School last month, and I still feel a bit uncomfortable about it. I'm separated from my friends for most part of the day, and I've only made some small talk with other people. The teachers seem really strict and the classes seem like they'll be hard to pass. It's only been a few days and I already don't like it. I really wish these 3 years (High school is 3 years where I live) would just be done with already. I look at my older brother's who've finished high school 5-8 years ago, and their lives seem so much easier right now not having to deal with high school. Sometimes I wish I was their age right now so high school would've already ended. Well, How do I make the best of these years? And does it really go by fast like everyone says it does?

Sooner or later, life gets more uphill than before. High school is there to prepare you for real life – dealing with employers, business associates, customers, fellow workers, new acquaintances, and so on.

The curriculum in high school is more difficult, that's true. However, teachers are aware of this, and if you make an honest effort to get up to speed, they'll see that.

As for friends, seeing them isn't so automatic as it was. You'll need to plan to get together, whether simply walking to school and back, or seeing them for shopping, hanging out at each others' homes, or going places together. This is a life skill to learn, too.

If you did reasonably well in elementary school, you'll be okay in high school as soon as you adapt to the new system, buckle down, and keep up with your studies. You can do this – almost everyone else your age has managed quite well.

No, life will only get harder once you graduate from high school.

You will have to continue to college which is extremely competitive, or you will have to find a full time job and start working for a living.

Enjoy your free time now while you can get it.

Participate and get involved with events. Classes wont be hard. As you get older, specifically after HS is way harder. Responsibilities will only increase. You have so much free time use it wisely and enjoy it. Get to know people and dont be shy. I had some of my best moments in HS.
