I live outside Boston, MA. The end of next month I am going to England to visit my best friend Jody who lives over there. I am staying at her house which her parents own and live there. I know what the mother wants but I am at a stump on what to bring the father. I keep asking for a clothing size, but the question keeps getting avoided saying I don't need to bring anything. Its just common curiosity to bring gifts to your host.

Is there such a thing as canned authentic "Boston baked beans", or something that Boston is known for. Or, genuine maple syrup. Perhaps, a book of the natural beauty of New England. I scratched the historical view for obvious reasons. And I assume you're not old enough to buy liquor either.

Bring lots of Boston Baked beans and a few pairs of teeth braces. Or a gift certificate to Clear Choice Dental Implants haha.

Something american! I would appreciate like something i can't get here. Don't get her something she could get from england like chocolates or flowers or stuff. I'm not to educated on Boston. I know where it is and its history. But there must be tradition there of something you could give. Saying that i'd be happy with a Boston shaped Keyring. :')

I think they mean what they say and that you really don't need to bring him a gift. Here in the U.K. we do not expect it.Just bring yourself.Just take them out for a meal or a drink while you're here to say thank you. Have fun.

Least intelligent suggestion ever.
